Simply Christmas
Simply Christmas
‘Tis the time of busy streets,
Merriment and lots of treats!
Of packages filled with heart’s desire,
The end product of shopping trips from which we tire!
Christmas trees all full of lights that shimmer and sparkle on snowy nights.
It is the time of memories future and memories past.
Ones that go and ones that last.
Of childhood wishes and childhood pleasures.
Of little dolls and pirates treasures.
‘Tis a season that’s ageless, forgotten by time.
It carries with it something that’s priceless but cost not a dime.
It requires no outlay, no spending, it’s free!
It is something that’s dear to you and to me!
Everyone has it, no one’s left out!
If you ask what it is people will gladly shout…
“It’s joy and hope! It’s peace and love!”
“It’s wishes met and prayers answered from up above!”
If by now to this you are not a witness,
The answer now I’ll tell you…
“It’s simply Christmas!!!”

Yes It Is True I’ve Been Lax How About You?
It seems these days that I haven’t been too much on my game. I guess you can say that I have been complacent about things and the direction that my life has been taking. All in all I tend to just sit back and let the world pass me by and watch from the side lines just belly aching about this and that. Well that really doesn’t do a darn thing to change things or make them better. One could say that I followed the “Procrastinator’s Motto”.... “Why do Today what you can Put Off until Tomorrow!!” It seems that a great deal of us seem to be falling into that rut. This is a bad thing. It has many ill effects on ones self and those around them. I notice that the more complacent and lax I become the more depressed and unmotivated the Mrs gets and the more depressed and agitated the young one becomes. (Not fun to be around when this happens.)
Up until today I really didn’t think too much about it.
This morning I was checking my emails and had received a link from my wife. It was rather appropriate for the way I have been lately and it was also a real eye opening motivator, if I do say so myself. It hit me hard smack between the eyes. It’s impact was more that I had originally anticipated when I first looked at the link compared to when I actually sat and watched the “movie” that the link contained. I thought that it was something that I should share with all of you and let you decide for yourselves how to react. So with no further ado here is the link to click on….http://usawakeup.org/
Once you have viewed this please let me know what you think and perhaps what we should do to motivate others to watch this video as well!?!

Eeny Meeny Miny Moe who is going to end this War?
Eeny Meeny Miny Moe who is going to end this War? Well I don’t know, Do you? Apparently one of the potential Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces doesn’t exactly know either. It seems that the illustrious Barack Obama has put his foot in his mouth again. In an attempt to change the belief that he is flip-flopping on his platform for dealing with the Iraq War Obama made the following comment “I’m going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close. We are going to get out.” There seems to be one problem, I guess Barack Obama doesn’t understand the role of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Joint Chiefs of Staff does not have operational command of U.S. military forces. That authority resides in the commanders of the various Unified Combatant Commands. CENTCOM is the command with responsibility for Iraq [and 26 other countries including Afghanistan and Pakistan]. Earlier this month, the Senate confirmed President Bush’s appointment of General David Petraeus as CENTCOM commander. Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno is the new US commander for Iraq, replacing Gen. Petraeus. Those are the people, along with the Secretary of Defense, to whom the orders Obama spoke of would be issued.
Knowing that Senator Obama, “is a student of military matters and intellectually voracious, it is thus rather stunning that he would betray such ignorance regarding the way the military actually functions. In truth, the Joint Chiefs are not part of the chain of command. Indeed, they are specifically by statute not part of the chain of command but instead serve solely in an advisory capacity to the president. Surely Obama knows this. Obviously he wouldn’t be seeking the role of Commander-in-Chief without knowing how the job is done. So what follows will be familiar to him, but may be enlightening to the media types who to date have overlooked yet another Obama misstatement.”

Happy Independence Day!
Today I was planning on writing this whole long blog about how I love my country and how much things have been changing of late for the worse at home and abroad. However, I received an email from the USN Master Chief of my clan that sums it up pretty well. It touches on a great many points that we need to think about on this day of celebration. Please take a moment and read the posting on the Thomas More Law Center Blog that I have placed here. It is entitled ”Happy Independence Day! ”
I would just like to add a few sentiments of my own, even though they are so eloquently expressed by both Father Dennis Edward O’Brien of the United States Marine Corps and Richard Thompson of the Thomas More Law Center.
We need to remember to be thankful for the freedoms we have today. To give quiet thanks to our Brave Forefathers for obtaining these freedoms and to say a prayer for our Heroic Military men and women who are ensuring that we can enjoy our freedoms still today. And if you happen upon a Veteran or Active Member of Our Armed Services, whether it be Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, National Guard or a Reservist, take the time to stop and thank that person for putting themselves in harms way for you and your family and for protecting our liberties and glorious nation both here and abroad. Give them the recognition and kindnesses that they deserve!

Increase The Bounty in The Royal Treasury!!
Greetings to All my loyal subjects!! Yup that means you all that are currently reading the self indulgent rantings of a self proclaimed monarch! Well
Today May Just Be” YOUR LUCKY DAY!!”
Yes you did read correctly, I am about to let all of you in on a wondrously beautiful or should I write bountiful secret. I know I know you all are thinking the same thing that I did… OK What is this gonna cost?!? Well hang in there and I’ll tell you in a bit, first let me tell you what I was referring to.
Here is the background:
I was at the doctor’s the other day, I’ll leave out the boring medical items to save time, when my Dr. said ” Have I got a winner for you!” Of course this wasn’t the first time I had been told this, so I was ready to just say Nope. All of the other times were great, but I was left with little to show for them but moths in my bank account and a lot of bill collectors wanting their money!! I just sat listening and biding my time for the best place to just say too much moo-la lost the last time bub for me to give this one a shot. So as I sat listening to him it started to really make sense and sounded like a really good idea!
this is the gist of the conversation…
You have a computer and you are usually on-line for at least a couple of hours during the day if you total it all up. Yes, why? Well what would you say if I said you could make money by surfing some ads on-line? What is the catch Doc?!? Well you have to surf 24 ad sites… 24 SITES I gasped! Hold on Hold on it is 24 sites, but you just have to be on them for about 15 seconds each!! 15 SECONDS thats it!?! Yes that is it! OK so what is the catch? No catch, you just surf the sites and make money, AND if you have a web site you actually can place an ad for your own site in their system to have your site as one of the ones to be viewed! Really? Yes really. OK so how do you get into this? Easy just go and check out ... so he gave me the site information.
My inquisitive nature and doubting Thomas side still had some questions, like
$10!! Yup you heard right, Just $10 will start you earning money for surfing 24 sites for 15 seconds a site!
Of course he added, the more you put in the more you get out, or build up if you reinvest it! OK so then how do you get your money or can I even have access to get my money back? Well look at it this way, yes you can get to your money, but you only have access to the cash balance that you build up from your investment. The easiest way to get this is to think of a cash value insurance policy. You build cash on the payment, but you don’t have the amount you pay. What I mean is this… what you put in is going to purchase advertising for your web site. This you can consider as gone, but don’t fear this amount is like a credit balance to your account. This amount is the amount that your account is active for until it is all “spent” or actually recaptured in the amount your receive for surfing the web sites daily, plus 25% so if you invest $500, you have an active account that will be open until your cash value is equal to your original $500 plus an additional $125. So once you hit $625 your account is closed, or if you decide to re-invest it it reopens/remains active. OK so now I was totally confused and must have shown it on my face. He chuckled and said I was just like you when I was told about this. Trust me, just go to the site I gave you and click on all of the links and they will be better able to explain it all. OK I said and parted with this one remark… ” This better not be like all the ‘other messes you’ve gotten me into Stanley’, or No One will be able to find your bones, let alone identify them’!! We both laughed as he knew I was only teasing him, and off I went.So sure enough I first got the free site, after viewing all there was to view, and played around for a few days. This was OK and sure I was getting credits for my website, but it wasn’t doing anything for my pocket. SO I took $10 over to my local Bank of America,(BOA), and deposited it to their account, faxed the proof of deposit and the receipt to their office and the next day poof there it was ... $10 in my account!! Yippee! Now lets see what happens!?! OK the next day there was a cash balance in my account of $0.13. Hmm not great I thought, but a heck of a lot better then what any Money Market, Checking or Savings Account were earning, and better than any Bank or Credit Union were paying you in interest! OK lets give it a shot I said so I scrounged up a few hundred more and sent it in. So I waited and waited for it to hit my account, boy it seemed like forever before it finally hit! Trust me I’ll never do that again!! Next time I’ll bring it to a local BOA! Well Holy Cow just 4 days since my money hit the account and I have earned myself almost $40!! Now you tell me where you can get a return like that on your account!! Plus before I forget to tell you I also have earned 1215 credits for advertising my web site! Totally Awesome!! All I have to do is remember to surf my 24 sites daily, and you don’t even have to do it all in 1 session!
My advice to you is to definitely scrounge up what ever the amount is you can spare, amounts must be in $1 denominations and the minimum opening deposit amount must be at least $10, and follow the instructions to deposit the cash or money order or certified check into their account at your local Bank of America Branch near you then sit back surf up and watch the money zip in to your account!!
Well that is it for now my subjects, so click away on the nice little link below and join me on the waves to wealth-dom!!!

Food For Thought!
A change of topics today. The Mrs, aka the Queen, told me about this video on YouTube so I watched it and thought it kind of hit some good points to think on. So I have decided to add this to my message for today! It is called “If I Were A Terrorist”. It tells you some interesting things about what James Pence would do if he were in the role of a terrorist. SO, please click and watch this and think to yourself
WHAT I WOULD DO IF I WERE A TERRORIST !
Hmmm could this already be happening!?!
Our government wouldn’t do this to us. Or Would It…???

Are You Scared Yet?!?
I am becoming even more nervous everyday with concern for the fate of this Nation. At first it was candidate vs.candidate is now Presidential candidate and Vice Presidential running mate! BUT even on top of that you not only get 1 Clinton you get BOTH Clintons if Obama wins. Next what really is disconcerting is how little the populous knows about the smooth talking, slick dressing Mr. Obama. There was an internet video portrait done of Obama that was forwarded to me by my Better half. I think it discusses quite a few things that we ALL should know and think about before making a decision on how we would like or dislike this Young Politician becoming this Great Nation’s Leader and The Commander and Chief of the Greatest Armed Services in the World. In an effort to help you become better educated on this matter, just click on this Portrait of Barack Hussein Obama
. Please take the time and watch this video. It is quite something to think about. I am not trying to diswade you from following your own judgement for the election, I am just trying to make sure everyone gets The Facts”. SO lets just take a few minutes sit back and absorb the information.
I am happy to review and comment on any items concerning McCain that come my way as well. If anyone would like to send me some information, or even to say hi, just send me an email at

Ah Potato or is it Potatoe?
Today I decided to write about something off of my normal track. I love my country and as so I am deeply concerned about this presidential election. The news is full of constant arguing between Obama and Clinton’s corners. This tends to dilute and hide the issues that we all should concern ourselves with. More focus on how to resolve job loss in the US, illiteracy, poverty and disaster recovery to areas that have been devistated by natural disasters seem to me to be of more importance than slandering each other. I am perplexed at the moment as to which way I will vote come election time, but right now I feel like it is going to be an election to choose the lesser of all evils. Who will do the least harm to this country should be in our minds.
I have started to review, in more depth, articles I find more off of the beaten path. They tend to be about the speeches made by the candidates. I received an email that talked quite a bit about Obama’s mistakes and turn-a-round statements. Here is the article : Barack Potatoe Obama It tends to parallel Obama’s faux pas to those made by Dan Quayle and point out how the media jumps on McCain’s age for his mistakes but raise Obama up as “Captain Competent.”
I don’t know who to believe these days, but I am tending to lean towards voting as they did in a movie that I liked quite a bit. It was called Brewster’s Millions and I want to vote for
“None of The Above”!
How Are You Going To Vote?!?

Whew! We Made It Through Number One Daughter!
Yup that is correct! Our oldest daughter graduated from college on May 18th with a degree in Integrated Marketing and Communication. Now what the heck is that you ask? So did and do I to this date. All I know is that she has landed herself with a Bachelor of Science Degree from The Park School at Ithaca College. That means that she went to a prestigious school for landing a job in the fields of marketing, advertising, public relations and television and film! What does that do for our gal you say….
Well that means that she has landed herself an internship at a moderate sized PR, (Public Relations), firm in NYC. Thats right, our country bumpkin is going to be taking a bite out of the Big Apple this summer! Unfortunately for us that meant she was heading off to Gotham exactly 1 week after graduation day!! Oh sure don’t stress the rents out at all. Just give us the shortest time to pull together everything needed for a Grad Party in 3 1/2 days, as we returned home Tuesday evening and had to have the party on that Saturday, May 24th, as daughter dearest had to head to NY on Sunday Morning since her internship commenced on Tuesday.
Well this is Tuesday and she is in NYC at her new job and I am here typing so that means that we all made it through!! I have to tell you though that I did have my doubts a few times during the preliminaries of the party and send off. What do I mean by this you query? Well, let us just say that my love and better half whom I rely upon more than you can ever imagine got nailed with one of the most horrific of migraines that I have ever had the misfortune to see anyone ever come down with!!! It was so terrible that she was forced to stay in bed for the majority of Friday and most of the morning on Saturday in an effort to loose the headache, nausea, temperature, hot and cold sweats as well as total loss of strength! It was so bad that I had to call the doctor on Friday evening and disturb him on his off hours, thank the big guy upstairs that I have the Doc’s personal cell phone number on speed dial because of my problems. After relaying all of the symptoms and things to him he called in some prescriptions for her and it was off to the local pharmacy to get the all necessary healing pills!!
So Saturday comes around and it is time for the festivities to begin and where are the Mrs. and myself? Why at the grocery store where else would we be, at the party awaiting the arrival of our guests you say? Nope we are all geared up and running on full speed like crazy people trying to get the last minute forgotten items we needed to have to lets just say cool the beverages and cook the food!!! MHM we waited a bit to long to get them so we were late to our own party! I must say however that when we did arrive we pulled it all together and a wonderful time was had by all!
Tune in next time for as photo montage of the festivous grandeous!!

Can You See Me Now?
Well I knew it would come one day, but who would a thunk it would be so soon! The eye doctor had told me that I had fast growing cataracts caused by steroids that I take to keep my asthma under control. In New York the doctor decided that I could go without having them removed as long as I could see and they weren’t really bothering me too much. All was well and good. No in Michigan I went to have the eyes checked as I was getting more frequent headaches and eye pain as well as occasional blurring vision. The verdict .... have them removed. First thought—YIKES!!!
SO I prepared myself to have the surgery expecting as things usually go to have to wait two to three weeks. Little did I know the doc was talking in days not weeks! Well the day comes to be at the outpatient surgery center at the crack of 8 am and the nerves are going faster then the body is moving. I get to the center and its zip right into the pre-op area to get put into one of these gowns, but at least if I were to go I was able to keep my pants and boots on so it wouldn’t be that embarrassing. Now I lie down on the gurney and they check the vitals, name rank and serial number, which eye as only 1 gets done at a time. and the numbing eye drops begin. After about 20 minutes of numbing drops and staff introductions it is into the OR for the slice and dice of the old eye lens and in with the new. In the OR I’m given more numbing drops and an IV cocktail to calm me down for the operation. Here I am thinking that I’ll be out cold for this, but unbeknownst to me you need to only be in a twilight condition. This is so you have some control over your eye muscles. So the doc starts the water flowing to the eye to keep it moist and lubricated and they have the speculum keeping the eye lids spread wide open. Then its slice and a sonic blast to the lens and then they suck it out. Then they place the new one in and use the water to help set it in the right spot. After a few minutes, about 25 to 30 minutes the doc says look up, look down, look right and finally look left. Then its insert the antibacterial goop and you hear those lovely words… OK it looks great take him to the recovery area.
So you breathe the longest, deepest best deep breath you’ve ever had and next thing you know your wheeled over to an area in the prep room where your better half is waiting and they give you some crackers and juice and tell you to hold the cotton ball over the place where you just had the IV yanked out. Then with one last check of the vitals and a quick change you receive the parting gift of new meds to put into your eye 4 to 6 times a day, the new “Old fogey” glasses, as my daughter and wife called them, the directions and signs to watch for trouble and the dos and do nots for the next month or so, you make the next appointment for the following day and it is homeward bound only to get there and pass out, on and off, for the majority of the day.
I have to admit that once you get the first one done it is really awkward until the second one gets done! Thankfully all went well for the first one and perhaps tomorrow I’ll recant the saga of eye number 2 and what transpired until that one was completed.
